This topic has been on my mind since the 90's, especially in practice I have seen a reliance on over-the-counter medications. It worries me that people are in this much pain, inflammation, and take a remedy that only complicates their symptoms.
Anything chemical should be analyzed for side-effects, check how you feel (digestion), and know the warning signs and doses, not to exceed certain levels.
Awareness is key. We do not need the government to "cap our dose", we need to be educated on the horrendous abuse of OTC's, NSAIDS, and analgesics/narcotic side effects.
